Coach Ryan Jones brings more than seven years of wrestling coaching experience across youth, junior varsity, varsity, freestyle, Greco-Roman, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu programs.
As a competitor, Ryan was a three-year varsity starter, a two-time team state finalist, a member of multiple nationally ranked high school teams, an AAU Junior Duals champion, a fourth-place finisher at the USA Folkstyle National Championships, a Fargo Freestyle National Team member, and a Clash National Tournament runner-up.
During his coaching career, Ryan has helped develop seven Minnesota High School State place winners within his first three years of coaching, all of whom were first-year varsity athletes. He has also served as a wrestling and takedown instructor for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu academies and as a technique instructor at Thorne Wrestling Camp.
Ryan has trained in environments led by accomplished Olympic, NCAA, national, and world-level wrestlers and coaches, including Dan Gable and Jordan Burroughs.
